Each licensed funeral director in the state of Texas is required to obtain 16 hours of continuing education every two years to renew his or her license.  Of the 16 hours, 6 are specific required subjects:  Mortuary Law, Ethics, and Vital Statistics requirements and regulations.  Click here for the State CE requirements.  There are several ways to obtain continuing education hours.
 

• Each year at the annual TFDA convention, it is possible to obtain all 16 hours including the 6 required hours.

• At many of the regional meetings, the region will offer a few continuing education hours.

• You may complete continuing education hours on-line by accessing TFDA's Endorsed Provider APEX Continuing Education.  You may call 800-769-8992 or go to this link.

• When TFDA is notified of other continuing education opportunities, they will be listed in our calendar of events.
